from washington to tell us what this all means. first off, is there anything, joe, to read in to this morning's silence coupled with friday's silence on this issue? >> honestly, nothing at all. they could still decide later in the week, quite frankly. they could decide next week. this is a thing about the court. they really don't send a lot of signals or messages to do something and we have been telling people all along that, you know, there's potential for this to come later on. they can still go in march with this. and we could still get a decision around june. so, don't read anything in to it. that said, you know the broad legal question the supreme court considers of equal protection. basically do same sex couples deserve the same rights and benefits as all other americans? we don't know if the court wants to hear the case. it could be a much narrower case about the defensive marriage act, it could be limited to considering whether couples in states where same-sex is legal and eligible for benefits and not a sweeping decision. the other parameter, of course, proposition

in petaluma, what more can you tell us? >> hey there, kelly. this has been a three-day buildup, it started on wednesday and went overnight thursday and friday more rain and heavy rains at night and ten inches across the entire region and we saw some flooding earlier here at petaluma and the levels on the river is gone down a bit and there was heavy rain there and the home of michael jimenez was flooded pretty badly and we heard there was heavy rains overnight and that came in flooding a local park and rushed into the town and here is how he described what happened. take a listen. >> okay. are waking up with mostly clear skies, some of us to near freezing and some of that fog is dense. i will take a look at it coming up. >> two teens were arrested overnight after a pipe bomb was set off inside a mailbox in a neighborhood. we are live now with more on the damage caused. >> reporter: it all started a report about an explosion in pleasant hill, close to the sun valley mall. what exploded was a pipe bomb somebody putin side that mailbox. that's what is left of it. nobody in the neighborhood was hurt but several residents reported seeing a red suv leaving the area. police spotted that suv outside college park high school and found another pipe bomb inside the vehicle. the bomb squad came out to set off the second pipe bomb. nobody was hurt. police found five teens who had been driving around in that red suv. two of them were arrested. they were cooperative and one admitted to making the pipe bombs. >> this was a significant pipe bomb. all the damage you that may expect there was -- the mailbox was destroyed. anybody had been close they would have been hurt and possibly killed. >>

on this issue. the american people are not with us on this issue. they think those who have done well can be asked to do more. we're going to have to give. the thaj for the president is to know how much he needs to give to the speaker to allow the speaker to sell that to his own conference. >> i have to bet all of you watching have ideas on where the middle ground lies. do you have a position on that? do you see it? >> i have certainly some idea of where the compromise could be. the president has set a target for how much new revenue he wants. you can get a lot of that by raising the rates above $250. if there was additional eliminations, you can get to the same number and do it in a slightly different way. therefore, the speaker could claim some credit. the president could get the revenue that the country needs. so there are many ways to skin the cat. i don't think we're going over the cliff. i think you're seeing the kind of dance that goes on in the negotiation when people don't want to disclose too early what their bottom line is. >> so you can say there's no appetite to go over the f
